Numb #AtoZChallenge

Maisie thought she was  having a stroke.  She went for a nap the other afternoon and let me tell you, she nearly gave me a stroke when she woke up screaming. I’m not the better of it I tell ye.

N 2017

  • What ma? Jaysis what’s wrong?
  • I think I’m having a stroke
  • Oh jaysis ma
  • I can’t feel my arm
  • Can you raise it up in the air
  • No. I can’t feel it I told you
  • What day is it?
  • What are you asking me that for Bernie?
  • To see if you’re confused
  • I’m not confused. I’m having a stroke
  • You’re not having a stroke. Who’s the president?
  • Feck off Bernie. I don’t give a shite who’s president
  • You’re definitely not having a stroke ma
  • How do you know?
  • Because if you were having a stroke you wouldn’t be still moaning
  • I can’t see
  • You’ve no glasses on ma and the curtains are closed
  • I can’t feel my arm
  • What side were you lying on?
  • My right
  • What arm is numb
  • My right
  • I’ll just give it a rub for you
  • Ah jaysis stop, that hurts Bernie
  • I thought it was numb?
  • The feeling is coming back a bit
  • You just fell asleep on your arm ma that’s all. You’re grand
  • Am I talking funny?
  • No ma,you’re talking alright
  • I’m not I’m talking funny
  • You always talk like that when you’ve no teeth in ma
  • I could be dying for all you care
  • You’re not dying ma, you’re arm is just numb from lying on it
  • Wait until you’re my age
  • I can’t wait ma
  • You’ll know what it’s like to be old like me
  • If I get like you I hope they fucking shoot me
  • What?

I could do with something to numb me right now.  Is it too early for a drink?   😦

  1. Hi Dublin Housewife,
i agree with your commenter. Scary for you but your delivery WAS funny. You’re a good writer. When I think people have head trauma, I ask how many fingers I’m holding up or their address. Funny he asked you who the president is.
I met you at Danny Ray’s Meet and Greet. Maybe you can check out my blog if you need any blogging tips. That’s what I write about. I also host 10 networking events each month including two Meet and Greets like Danny.

      1. I love reading your comments. You sound so, so Irish! Did I mention I’ve been to Ireland and my sister-in-law is Irish?
Thanks for your reply. I will look forward to your visit to my blog.

      2. I don’t know. I think she was born here but her ancestors are Irish. Her maiden name is O’Shea. I cruised the British Isles and went to Ireland. Where the Titanic exhibit was? I don’t remember.
